Values and missions

Our philosophy

The hospital is located on a hospital and university campus and is exemplary in its pursuit of the university's key missions of teaching, research and service to the community.

The hospital is named after the famous humanist and philosopher Erasmus who lived many years in the Anderlecht district. Born between 1466 and 1469, he was a champion of education in the firm belief that it was the best way of reforming the mediaeval Church. The hospital is located on a hospital and university campus and is exemplary in its pursuit of the university's key missions of teaching, research and service to the community.

Our values

We are guided by the fundamental values of respect and consideration for the individual, open-mindedness, tolerance, solidarity, constructive criticism and reasoned doubt.

Our ambition is excellence. An excellence that requires constant vigilance and an attention to quality in all our actions and in all our relations.

To meet this challenge, we need the skills of each and every one of us.

Every one of us must be able to identify with the hospital's successes and to take pride in them.

It is in this spirit that we seek to define specific goals and set a clear strategy, satisfy the expectations and needs of all, ensure a welcoming environment with a focus on information and training, encourage dynamism and innovation, favour dialogue, simplify procedures and respect our commitments.

In particular:

  • In regard to patients, we must guarantee optimal medical information and promote quality care by questioning our methods, continuously evaluating our results and actively seeking new concepts and procedures.
  • In regard to students, we must provide a qualification that equips them to become effective professionals and establish lasting bonds
  • In regard to staff, we must promote a certain quality of life and team spirit and acknowledge and ensure recognition for their achievements and successes.
  • All members of staff are invited to share responsibility for our success in their individual roles as they exercise their skills.
