Parkinson’s Disease: an information session for patients

Journée information patients - Maladie de Parkinson - 11 avril 2026 - Hôpital

An information day to understand and exchange

The multidisciplinary team of the Abnormal Movements Clinic (a clinic attached to the Neurology Department of the H.U.B) invites patients and their families to an event entirely dedicated to them.

Programme

Each presentation lasts 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of questions and answers between the speakers and the audience.

  • 9:00 – 10:00
Dr. Frédéric Supiot, neurologist: pump therapies
  • 10:00 – 11:00
Dr. Alexandra Boogers, neurologist: deep brain stimulation
  • 11:00 – 12:00
Ms. Sara Ben Chekroun, physiotherapist: physiotherapy and physical activity
  • 12:00 – 13:00
Mr. Hichem Slama, neuropsychologist: cognitive and psychological disorders related to Parkinson’s disease

“This event is important because the disease remains poorly known and is often confused with other neurodegenerative conditions. Because a 30-minute consultation every three months is not enough to address all aspects of the disease. And because relatives and caregivers do not always have the opportunity to express their questions or difficulties,” explains Dr. Vincent Leclercq, neurologist and member of the Abnormal Movements Clinic.

Beyond providing information to patients and the general public, this day is also an opportunity to highlight the expertise of our specialised Parkinson consultation:

  • an experienced team,
  • a multidisciplinary approach,
  • expertise in advanced therapies,
  • human and personalised support for patients and their relatives.

Because better understanding the disease already means living with it better. And because a well-informed and well-supported patient remains an active participant in their care pathway.
